Warhammer: Wood Elf Army - 2006

Warhammer: Wood Elf Army - 2006
2250 Points

This army took a fair amount of time, and when I added even more Eternal Guard into the list mid-year the amount of painting involved increased further. The army was painted with a black undercoat and I wanted to keep the dark theme with each unit, adding skulls and severed heads wherever possible. I painted the Wild Riders with blue skin as an etetheral quality, 'cos, lets face it, average looking wood elves on horses aren't going to cause fear to anyone, are they? This was also my first attempt at the infamous non-metal, metal technique.

The army took out the bronze 'Rune of Forging' aka 3rd place in Best Army at the Wellington GT 2006 and was runner up in this category at Call to Arms.

Highlights: Bark skin is cool to paint
Lowlights: Stringing all those bows!
